There has been an encounter between a team of the Nepali Army on patrol inside the Chitwan National Park and a wild elephant. One soldier was injured in the incident on Wednesday morning.

Avinash Thapa Magar, Information Officer and Conservation Officer of Chitwan National Park informed that although minor injuries were seen on his hands and back, there were no internal injuries.

The team that went on a foot patrol from Katchuwani in the eastern area of the park on Tuesday evening and stayed on a scaffold in the forest and were going to return this Wednesday morning, encountered an elephant. The incident took place at 7:10 in the morning, one and a half kilometers east of Kachhwani. There were four soldiers on the

patrol. The elephant pushed a military constable with its trunk. Thapa Magar, information officer of the park, said that three rounds of aerial fire were fired to drive away the elephants.

The patrol team suddenly encountered a wild elephant named 'Govinde' roaming in the eastern area of the park.
