A person from Chitwan Gunjnagar died after being electrocuted while trying to extinguish the fire in the motor pump for drawing water for irrigation.

The deceased has been identified as 50-year-old Sher Bahadur Thapa of Bharatpur Metropolitan Municipality-18 Gunjnagar.

DSP Ravindra Khanal, the spokesperson of Chitwan District Police Office, informed that there was a fire in the pump that was used to draw water in the fields of old Nepali farmers. Thapa, who was seriously injured in the incident around 3:30 in the afternoon, was brought to Chitwan Medical College's teaching hospital in Bharatpur for treatment. DSP Khanal said that the doctor of the hospital declared Thapa dead at 4 pm.
