The work of connecting 'Belli Bridge' over the damaged bridge in Simkhola under the dam of Kulekhani hydropower project has reached its final stage. Last October 11th and 12th, the bridge was damaged due to the floods and landslides that came with the incessant rain.
Even though the warpar belay bridge connection work on the bridge has been completed, the work of putting 'deck plate' is going on in full swing. "It can be connected within 2-3 days," said Engineer Dipendra Yadav, "Vehicles can cross this bridge from July 15."
The connection work has started here since June 28. In order to connect the belay bridge, two belay bridges which were not in use on the Bhainse-Bhimphedi road section were pulled out and brought.
Head of Transport Infrastructure Directorate Hetaunda Naveen Singh said that 30 technicians and workers are employed. The right and left side of the bridge, i.e. the access road, has been washed away, so the Beilibridge is going to be built.
After the Kulekhani was filled with heavy rains, when the gate was opened to prevent 'overflow', the road along with the Simkhola bridge in the lower part of the Kulekhani Dam located in Indrasarovar Rural Municipality-2 was damaged. Now the traffic has been diverted from the river.
