An Indian pilgrim who was walking to Kailash Mansarovar through Tatopani Naka located in Bhotekoshi Village-2 died on Friday.

According to the local police office Bahrbise, 57-year-old Tank Kiritbhai Chunilal, a resident of Gujarat, India, died during treatment. He was a participant in the Mansarovar Yatra group and suddenly fainted while crossing Miteri Bridge in the Nepal-China border area. 'After fainting, he was immediately taken to a nearby health center for first aid, he has been taken to the teaching hospital for post-mortem,' District Police Chief Superintendent Rameshwar Karki said.

As the situation was serious, he was taken to the city hospital located in Bahrbise Municipality-5 for further treatment. According to hospital sources, doctors there declared him dead.

The movement of Indian pilgrims to Mansarovar has been increasing recently through Tatopani Pass. The District Administration Office, Sindhupalchowk, taking into consideration the health condition of the passengers, the locals have demanded that advance preparation and health examination should be made mandatory for those traveling to higher areas.
