The baby elephant has been named after the late conservationist Ved Kumar Khadka. Bhale Chhawa, born on June 28 at the Government Elephant Breeding Center in Chitwan Khorsor, was named on Wednesday.

V.No. Due to the fact that the elephant was born on 11th Baisakh of the year 2063, the elephant got the name 'Lokatantrakali'. The people's movement of 062/63 was successful and democracy was re-established in Nepal on the same day.
Before that, it was customary to name the elephant camp from the palace. The name 'Lokantrakali' was first given by the Chitwan park administration.
The first child of 'Lokatantrakali' is 'Budhgaj' and the second is 'Swarnakali'. It is customary to put 'Gaj' after the name of a male elephant and 'Kali' after the name of a female elephant.
