Recently, the water source is drying up in most places of Kavre. Out of the 13 local levels of the district, it has been observed that the water source and springs are drying up in the survey conducted at 7 local levels.

Water sources are drying up due to floods, landslides, deforestation, infrastructure development, earthquakes, climate change, etc. As the water sources and springs are drying up, the locals have to run far and wide in search of water, have to collect rainwater, migrate and other problems.

In view of these problems, 7 local levels of Kavre have discussed policy to protect the source of water and the watershed area. People's representatives of Dhulikhel Municipality, Panauti Municipality, Panchkhaal Municipality, Namobuddha Municipality, Bethanchok Rural Municipality, Roshi Rural Municipality and Temal Rural Municipality of Kavre have discussed about the protection of watershed and watershed. The matter was discussed in a two-day workshop on the source of mining water and the watershed protection of watersheds organized by the International Center for Integrated Mountains (ISIMOD).  In the

discussion, priority was given to the issues of the condition of the water source, the problems seen in the source, the reasons for the source drying up, and the policy initiatives to solve the problem. People's representatives have said that the floods and landslides that occurred in the second week of October have caused a lot of damage to the drinking water sources, so there are various problems due to the lack of drinking water. Accordingly, they said that the municipality has given special priority to this issue in its policies and programs.
