Two hundred and ninety-one snakebite patients have been treated in the Bharatpur Hospital here in the last three months. With the onset of rains, the number of snakebite patients in this hospital has increased.
According to Alauddin Mian, head of the hospital's emergency room, the hospital has treated 60 snakebite patients in May and 105 in May. Five of them were bitten by poisonous snakes. Similarly, out of 126 snakebite patients treated in the month of June, Mian informed that nine patients were bitten by poisonous snakes.
Snakebite patients come to this hospital from Makwanpur, Nawalparasi (Bardghat-Susta East), Tanahun, Gorkha, Lamjung along with Chitwan. He said that patients who come to the hospital are kept under observation for at least 6 hours and treated according to the symptoms of the patient.
Snakes such as Karait, Cobra, Goman, Viper etc. bite under poisonous snakes. He said that the bite of karait, goman, cobra snake affects the intoxication of the patient, while the bite of viper affects the blood element of the patient.
Patients bitten by poisonous snakes are being treated in the hospital's intensive care unit, while others are being treated in the emergency room. Now 10 to 12 snakebite patients come to the hospital for treatment every day. He said that many patients come here because snake bite treatment is good in this hospital.
