The police have arrested one person on the charge of killing a girl in Kavrepalanchok. The arrested person is 37-year-old Santosh Sunar of Ramechhap Manthali Municipality-13. He has been accused of killing his girlfriend Sharmila Upreti.

Sharmila's body was found in Bhagwan Thumki community forest in Banepa municipality-13 on Sunday afternoon. She was found dead at the foot of an itchy tree.

According to District Police Office Kavre, after the body was found, a police team from Banepa and a team with forensic doctors reached the spot for preliminary investigation. The body has been revealed to be that of 33-year-old Sharmila Upreti. She used to live in Chaurideurali rural municipality-1 Dandakhark house of Kavre and now she is living in Banepa-9 new town. Her father Kamal Upreti identified the body.

According to the police, Sharmila was missing since June 32. While investigating the incident as suspicious, Santosh, who was in a relationship, was arrested from a brick kiln located in Banepa-10 at 11:30 on Monday night on suspicion of being involved in the murder.

At present, Sunar has been investigated by Kavre district court for four days, according to the police.
