Traffic has come to a standstill after the rain damaged the Sunkhan-Sangba road in the northern area of Dolakha. After the rain that fell on Saturday night caused damage to Kalinchok Rural Municipality-6 under the said road section, five wards have been left without road connectivity.
The flood in Kalinchok river washed away the bridge of footpath connecting Vigu-8 and Kalinchok-2. Similarly, traffic was blocked on the Singti-Babre road section due to the flooding of the same river, according to the police. The police said that the flood in the river washed away the fish farm and the fields of more than 30 families.
Similarly, after the landslide damaged Vigu Rural Municipality-1 Soltimode under the Singti-Lamabagar road section that reaches the dam site of the Upper Tamakosi Hydropower Station, the traffic has been blocked on that road section as well.
Meanwhile, the District Administration Office, Dolakha, has issued a notice to the residents of the coastal area to be cautious, saying that the Tamakosi River and its tributaries may flood. On Sunday afternoon, the administration asked to be alert as there may be floods in Tamakosi and its surrounding rivers.
It has been mentioned in the notification issued by Chief District Officer Shivram Gelal that there is a risk of floods and landslides due to excessive or moderate rainfall in the upper areas of Dolakha.
