The Kanti Lokpath has been blocked since one o'clock in the morning on Thursday as the road has washed away due to rain.

Due to the rain that fell on Wednesday night, the road was blocked due to a landslide in Bhimphedi rural municipality-8 Baguwa, which is located on the road section of Thingan-Bagmati river in Kantilokpath.

'After the road falls, it is not more than half way. Motorcycles can hardly run, there is no way to pass other vehicles," Vidyasagar Mehta, police inspector of the area police office Thingan, said, "It may take a whole day to bring Kantilokpath into operation, there is no address."

The police said that they are preparing to work using JCBs. Police Inspector Mehta said, "Since the road itself has collapsed, the foundation has to be lifted from below." Kantilokpath was closed for five hours due to a landslide on that road section on Wednesday.

The vehicles going from Hetaunda to Kathmandu via Kantilokpath are stopped at Thingan, while the vehicles coming from Kathmandu to Hetaunda are stopped towards Lalitpur across the Bagmati Bridge.
