Night traffic on BP highway has been suspended for one more month. According to the decision of the security meeting of District Security Committee Kavrepalanchok held on Wednesday, the district administration office has banned the operation of passenger vehicles and private vehicles on BP highway for one more month from 6:30 pm to 5 am. Kavre Assistant Chief District Officer Sudarshan Shrestha informed.
According to the decision of the inter-district safety coordination committee meeting of Kavre, Sindhuli and Ramechhap held at the Khukort of Sindhuli on June 6, driving at night was prohibited for 15 days due to the risk of landslides during drought. According to the decision, traffic operation was stopped at night due to the danger in different places from Kavre Bhanjyang to Khurkot section of Sindhuli.
Shrestha has mentioned in the notice issued on Friday that as the risk of catastrophic events such as floods/slides on the highway remains, as per the decision of the district safety committee, the time of traffic stop at night has been extended.
