Bethanchok Rural Municipality of Kavrepalanchok, which was heavily affected by the flood/landslide that occurred in the second week of last October, is going to deploy volunteers for disaster response.
Bhagwan Adhikari, chairman of the rural municipality, informed that the meeting on Friday decided to involve the unemployed citizens listed in the municipality in activities such as disaster response and preparedness in order to reduce the risk. According to him, the municipality will prepare volunteers for disaster response in all 6 wards.
"A job dialogue platform has been formed under the Prime Minister's self-employment program in the municipality," he said, "the rural municipality has decided to deploy 508 unemployed citizens listed in the rural municipality through the platform for disaster response as needed." He said, "Disaster rescue materials will also be provided to them by providing training and counseling."
