Naveen Sigdel, the ward president of Hetaunda sub-metropolitan city-4, has been assaulted. Manju Lama of Roshi rural municipality of Kavre district assaulted Ward President Sigdel while discussing the road expansion from Hetaunda Campus located in Hetaunda-4 to Huprachaur on Thursday.
The police say that the woman who attacked the ward president was a construction worker. When Manju Lama started shooting a video while the Ward President was talking about road construction, the Ward President asked him not to shoot the video. According to eyewitnesses, the woman suddenly attacked the ward president after she asked him to turn off his mobile phone, telling him not to make a video.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Shyamu Aryal informed that the police took the woman into custody after the attack on the ward president.
After the contract was signed to widen the road with drainage, the locals demolished the wall within two weeks and widened the road to make it easier for the construction workers to work. But the road could not be constructed for almost one and a half years. At the end of June, the businessmen started digging ditches for sewer construction only from Wednesday. The construction work has stopped with the dispute on Thursday morning. After the attack on the ward president, the ward office has canceled the program scheduled for Friday.
