An Ayurveda dispensary building built in a remote village of Makwanpur has been inaugurated. The Ayurveda dispensary building constructed in Raksirang Rural Municipality-5, Thadechuri was inaugurated by Bagmati Provincial Assembly member Indra Bahadur Baniyan on Tuesday.
In the program, Congress leader and state assembly member Baniyan identified Ayurveda as an effective means of the ancient humanitarian service system and expressed his belief that it will provide public health services free from the side effects of modern medicine.
Baniyan promised that the provincial government will provide all possible support to the dispensary that can provide accessible and effective health services for low-income citizens. Since the Ayurveda dispensary in Siladhuni of Raksirang Rural Municipality was not in a suitable location, the Rural Municipality started providing services by constructing a building in Thadechuri.
Dispensary chief Kaviraj inspector Rambachan Sah informed that OPD services, special health counseling for senior citizens and lactating women, yoga and panchakarma services will be conducted in the dispensary.
The Ayurveda dispensary built with a budget of 30 lakh rupees of the rural municipality is spread over an area of 2 kathas and 10 dhurs. The land required for the construction of the building was donated free of charge by the local Ram Bahadur Chepang.
Two Ayurveda dispensaries were established in Makwanpur during the Panchayat period. A district-level Ayurveda dispensary was established at Siladhuni in Raksirang, where herbs are plentiful. A zonal level Ayurveda dispensary was established in Hetaunda sub-metropolitan city-2.
