The body of a woman from Kakani rural municipality-1 Bhasibuki, who went missing after being swept away by the flood after incessant rains, has been found.
The body of local 32-year-old Kamala Balami, who was swept away by the flood of Bimancha river around 2:40 am on Friday, was found in the Kolfu river in Belkotgarhi municipality-5 Beureni Baluakhet at 4 pm, District Police Office Nuwakot said. The body was identified and sent to Teaching Hospital for post mortem.
Kamala and her husband, 36-year-old Ashok Balami, were sleeping in the barn when the river suddenly washed away with the barn and livestock. Ashok was found injured about 100 meters north of the incident site. He was sent to People's Hospital Balaju Kathmandu for treatment.
DSP Vikram Lama of the District Police Office informed that the flood caused damage to Ashok and Kamala's household, crops, crops and livestock. According to him, property worth 1.5 million has been damaged due to flood.
The district police office, Kakani police station, Kolpukhola police team, public representatives and local rescue were deployed at the scene.
Meanwhile, Member of the House of Representatives elected from Nuwakot Region No. 1 and former minister Hit Bahadur Tamang inspected the flooded area. MP Tamang, who reached Vasibu on Friday afternoon, paid tribute to the deceased Kamala and expressed his condolences to the bereaved family and relatives. Wishing for the speedy recovery of the injured, he also drew the attention of the relevant agencies to provide relief to the flood victims.
