Skill Festival 2082, aimed at instilling respect for skills in the youth, was completed in Hetaunda on Friday. The festival has been organized by organizing a skill competition among the trainees participating in the industrial trainee program conducted in technical schools of Bagmati province.
In the program, students of hotel management, automobile and IT subjects demonstrated and competed the skills they had learned. The best among the participants were awarded. It is said that a program of this nature, which is a door to Aryaarjan, is organized only if skills are developed among the youth.
Ministry of Social Development, Bagmati Province Industry Confederation and Insure Project jointly organized the event. Within the 24-month learning period of the pre-diploma level of the industrial trainee program, the trainees get to go and learn the skills of the related subject for about 20 months in the industry. Swagatraj Pyakurel, vice president of Bagmati Province Industry Confederation, said that the industrial trainee program plays an important role in making trainees and schools aware of the real demands of the labor market. He said that since this program is completely new, if it can be taken widely, the skills of the youth can be connected with the industry. The technology being developed in the
industry has also been transferred to schools. Nepal Ekrat Engineering Pvt Ltd, an organization that is making electrical equipment, has handed over the recently developed technology to the school. Stakeholders have been saying that this program should be made effective at the federal level, where the industry will receive incentive expenses for a period of 20 months as an incentive.
