Chitwan police have arrested one person on the charge of dealing in cryptocurrency and one more person on the charge of conducting online betting (one x bet).

The police arrested Vishal Tiwari on May 28 from a hotel in Shanti Bazar of Ichchakamana Rural Municipality-5, Muglin Aad. The police alleged that Tiwari was dealing in USDT cryptocurrency.

Chitwan police held a press conference at the district police office on Monday and informed about this. Similarly, the police arrested 24-year-old Unique Shrestha from Ichchakamana rural municipality-4 Kurintar on the charge of online betting on June 4. According to the police, Shrestha, who was living in Banepa municipality-3 of Kavre and living in Kathmandu Chandragiri municipality-15, ran his business from Kurintar.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Govind Puri, who is the head of Chitwan District Police Office, said that he was betting online by losing money from his user ID. Puri informed that Shrestha seems to have done a business of Rs.1 crore eight lakh 11 thousand 13 "It was reported that the bookie was doing business a little outside the main city," SP Puri said.

He also appealed to the victims of such online fraud to file a complaint at the police office. SP Puri said that the Chitwan police are capable of investigating such crimes and will also take the help of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the police if necessary. Those who are cheated by online illegal transactions should file a complaint. We are ready to help in the judicial process to investigate,' Puri said.
