One house has been completely damaged and five houses are at risk due to a landslide in Chihane river in Doramba Shailung rural municipality-3 Tokarpur of Ramechhap.
Cows and calves have died after the landslide reached the barn. Ward president Santalal Magar informed that the house of local Jhagarsingh Bassel was completely damaged due to the landslide that fell at midnight on Sunday.
According to him, local houses such as Harikrishna Basel, Wise Basel, China Basel and others are at high risk of landslides. The ward president also said that there is a need to move them immediately.
Chairman of Doramba Shailung Rural Municipality Mainkumar Moktan informed that the local level has started preparations to move the houses at risk to safe places. He said that residents of risky settlements have been asked to stay safe as it is raining.
In August last year, 10 people lost their lives in a landslide in Lekhark of the same ward.
