With the onset of monsoon, most of the places in Kavre are now being planted in full swing. Out of the total cultivable area of 10,210 hectares, planting has been completed in 1,280 hectares till June 5.
According to District Agricultural Development Office Kavre, 12.54 percent planting has been completed.
Out of the 13 municipalities of Kavre, Panauti municipality has planted a lot. 30 percent in Panauti, 25 in Dhulikhel Municipality, 20 in Banepa Municipality, 20 in Bethanchok Rural Municipality, 10 in Chaunrideurali Rural Municipality, 5 in Namobuddha Municipality, 5 in Mandandepur Municipality, 5 in Bhumlu Rural Municipality, 5 in Roshi Rural Municipality, 3 in Panchkhaal Rural Municipality and 2 percent in Temal Rural Municipality. According to him, planting has not yet started in Khanikhola and Mahabharat Rural Municipality.
Chief Dawadi said that the Khumal and Makwanpur variety of rice seeds suitable for the climate here are recommended. According to him, although suitable advanced varieties of rice are recommended, it has been found that farmers are also planting hybrid rice of SJ-G10, China Super varieties.
