A scooter driver has died after being hit by a vehicle near Godom Chowk in Banepa Municipality-7 of Kavre.

Banepa area police office said that the driver, 45-year-old Gyandhwaj Tamang, died when a Yodwa vehicle numbered Na 4 Ch 5945 coming towards Banepa hit the scooter numbered Ba.P.02-023 P 6023 coming from the opposite direction at Banepa-Panauti road section around 1:00 on Saturday. He lived in Tamang Temal Rural Municipality-1 and was currently living in Banepa-7 Bus Park. 

Chief Police Deputy Superintendent Rameshwar Twati, who was seriously injured in the accident, was sent to Shir Memorial Hospital in Banepa for treatment, and the doctor declared him dead at 2 pm. 

The police said that the driver of the vehicle is absconding and the search for him is continuing.
