At around 9 o'clock on Thursday night, five people who were trapped in the middle of the river were safely rescued when the flow of water suddenly increased due to incessant rain in Roshi river located in Laskot, Namobuddha municipality-5 of Kavrepalanchok district.
As soon as the information was received, a team of Armed Police, Nepal Police and Nepali Army from Katunje Weshi Police Station reached the spot and rescued the trapped people, said Superintendent of Police Min Bahadur Ghale.
According to him, 21-year-old Sagar Rai of Dudhkoshi rural municipality ward no. 4 of Okhaldhunga district (laborer), 19-year-old Muskan Tamang of Kavre's Namobuddha municipality ward no. 5 (tipper co-driver), 42-year-old Sanjay Lama of Temal rural municipality ward no. 5 (contractor), 32-year-old resident of Temal rural municipality ward no. 9 of Kavre. Ramon Tamang (tipper driver) and Samir Tamang (JCB driver) aged 29 years living in Bhimeshwar Municipality Ward No. 9 of Dolakha district were rescued safely.
Nepal Police, Armed Police and Nepali Army team used upper river crossing method and rope rescue method to rescue all those people safely at 12:09 on Friday night.
