Drug addicts and alcoholics have killed 6 women living in the same house for 11 months in Makwanpur.

35-year-old brother-in-law Bimalman Gopali of Thaha Municipality-1 Kunchal killed his 50-year-old sister-in-law Tulmaya Gopali on Thursday. Bimalman killed his brother-in-law by hitting his neck. Bimalman is a drug addict. He was placed in a correctional center in Kathmandu 3 years ago and brought home.

His wife divorced him just 20 months ago because he was a drug addict. The sister-in-law had been reminding the brother-in-law not to take drugs and alcohol. Because of the reminder, brother-in-law and sister-in-law have not spoken for the past one year. But they lived in the same house. The stove was separate . When he was out in the courtyard, Bimalman suddenly killed his brother-in-law by hitting him on the neck. 

He was present at the local police office Palung in Thana Bazar in Thaha Municipality with the mukuri he used to kill his brother-in-law. According to a police officer of Palung area police office, he had consumed alcohol even then.

On March 12, 22-year-old brother-in-law Rahul Das, who was consuming drugs in Hetaunda sub-metropolis-1 Chowkitol, killed his 35-year-old sister-in-law Gudiya Das in the room of the house. He killed his brother-in-law in the hope that he did not give money for taking drugs. Rahul had been using drugs for four/five years . Now he is in Bhimfedi Jail.

Similarly, on July 27, 2081, 28-year-old Mangal Bahadur Pakhrin of Kailash Rural Municipality-5 of Makwanpur was drunk and killed his 22-year-old wife Lakshmi Pakhrin with a knife at home. Mangal Bahadur was also a drug addict. He was also kept in Hetaunda Correctional Center for 9 months. Mangal Bahadur is now in Bhimfedi Jail.

On 10 August 2081, 30-year-old grandson Pravin Vishwakarma killed 68-year-old grandmother Thulimaya Vishwakarma of Hetounda sub-metropolitan city-1 Bhairavadanda at home. Praveen killed the grandmother by pushing her drunk. Now he is in Bhimfedi Jail. On August 9, 2081, husband Keshav Bahadur Bhandari committed suicide by killing his wife Ambika Bhandari of Hetaunda sub-metropolitan city-5. 

According to District Police Office Makwanpur, 6 women have been murdered in Makwanpur from 27th July 2081 to 4th June 2082. Most of the murders are done by drug or alcohol addicts . District Police Office Spokesperson DSP Shyamu Aryal said that drug and alcohol abusers were found involved in the murder of a woman by her relative in Makwanpur.
