Makwanpur police have arrested one person with drugs and weapons. Police seized one Italian pistol, 1 pistol with magazine, 1 empty magazine and 13 bullets (rounds) from the house of 50-year-old Raju Syangtan of Raksirang rural municipality-1 and arrested Syangtan.

The joint police team of Provincial Police Office Hetaunda and District Police Office Makwanpur arrived at Syangtan's house and arrested him with weapons. The Italian pistol was kept by Syangtan under the pillow of the bed where he slept. The police recovered 1 sawed-off pistol, 12 rounds of bullets, 1 kg of 310 grams of opium and 22 kg of 800 grams of ganja from the shed of Syangtan.

Syangtan is a businessman who buys drugs like opium and marijuana and sells them to Indian traders, the police said. The police claim that Syangtan is carrying weapons and dealing in drugs. While arresting Syangtan from home with weapons and drugs, the villagers blocked the road. A 40-member police team led by Superintendent of Police Vishwaraj Khadka of District Police Office Makwanpur overcame the obstacles of the villagers and brought Syangtan to Hetaunda.

The police fired 10 rounds in the air to remove the obstruction of the villagers. The arrested Syangtan is a professional drug dealer. In the year 2071, he was convicted of drug dealing and was released from prison after spending 2 years. Similarly, in 2076, he was sentenced to 5 and a half years in prison for dealing in drugs and was released on January 1. Less than six months after he was released from prison, he was arrested again with weapons and drugs.

Police Deputy Superintendent and Spokesman Shyamu Aryal has said that 1 homemade katuwa pistol, 5 bullets and 1 kg of 480 grams of opium were found lying near the house of the arrested Syangtan at the foot of the mango tree of Chandralal Moktan.
