The Bagmati state government has allocated a budget of 67 billion 47 billion 73 lakh 27 thousand rupees for the next financial year 2082/083.
Economic Affairs and Planning Minister Kundanraj Kafle has allocated 26 billion 446 million 91 thousand rupees i.e. 38.6 percent for the current year and 42 billion 43 million 26 lakh 36 thousand rupees i.e. 61.4 percent of the budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
In the budget, 28 billion 8782 million 1 thousand rupees from tax and revenue, 6 billion 794 million 13 thousand rupees from other revenue, 41 billion 819 million rupees from federal financial transfers, 16 billion 9894 million 13 thousand rupees from savings and miscellaneous receipts of the current year.
Minister Kafle has presented a budget in the House that is about 3.7 billion rupees more than the current year 2081/082. He continued the plan for the current year and brought some new plans in the budget.
The provincial government is going to hand over 14 billion 158 million 89 million for the distribution of subsidies and taxes to the local level in the coming fiscal year. It is said that it will be made available through the budget statement to transfer 1 billion 66 million rupees for the honoring grant for the provincial and local levels. 3 billion 43 million 88 million rupees for conditional grant, 2 billion 79 million 86 million rupees for complete grant, and 76 million 30 million rupees for special grant. It is estimated that the provincial government will transfer 5.5 billion rupees in the next financial year for the distribution of vehicle tax.
Minister Kafle informed that the maximum amount of 24.80 billion rupees has been allocated to the physical infrastructure development ministry of the province. According to him, 7 billion 287 million rupees have been allocated for the Ministry of Water, Energy and Irrigation. He said that a budget of 4.35 billion 97 million rupees has been arranged for the Ministry of Social Development, 3.999 million 67 million rupees for the Ministry of Forests and Environment, 3.96 billion 88 million rupees for the Ministry of Health and 3.677 million rupees for the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
According to Minister Kafle, the Ministry of Youth and Sports has been allocated 1.16 billion rupees. This amount allocated to the Ministry of Sports is the highest budget so far. The Ministry of Labour, Employment and Transport has been allocated Rs 8741 million, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Lands and Administration Rs 7796 million and the Ministry of Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation has been allocated a budget of Rs 2578 million.
In partnership with the local level to promote tourism, a budget of 120 million has been allocated to build a mini Great Wall in Helambu Great Trail, Nuwakot and Sailung. A budget of 250 million has been allocated for the production program "One Ward, One Agriculture".
9 crores to establish and operate a pesticide residue testing laboratory and 6 crores to establish 4 smart agricultural farms, 5 crores budget has been allocated for subvention program on concessional loan interest.
