7 local levels of the district have announced that full vaccination targeting children has been ensured. Among the three municipalities and nine rural municipalities of the district, along with Melamchi and Bahrbise municipalities, Jugal, Tripurasundari and rural municipalities said that the 'search and vaccination' campaign was successful on Thursday.
The Melamchi Municipality has conducted a three-month long 'Search and Vaccination' campaign and provided all the missing vaccines to 1,747 children between the ages of 16 and 59 months. According to city chief Aitman Tamang, the city has been declared fully vaccinated after the successful campaign with the slogan 'Local ownership and participation, full vaccination is our commitment'.
'All the necessary vaccinations have been given to the children of the relevant age group. This is a historic achievement,' said Tamang. In the program, Deputy Chief Uma Pradhan, Ward President, health workers, employees and other stakeholders have also pledged to cooperate in the continuation of vaccination. Since
, Jugal and Tripurasundari Rural Municipality have also stated that they have completed the full vaccination assurance meeting up to the ward level. According to Chandra Narayan Shah, Head of the Health Branch of Tripurasundari Rural Municipality, along with ensuring vaccination, public health insurance, cervical cancer screening, and various health camps, the campaign has been made worthwhile, while the campaign is progressing rapidly in other municipalities as well, according to Sindhupalchowk Health Office.
