A young man was injured by the lightning that accompanied the storm. 32-year-old Krishna Bahadur Shrestha of Bagmati Rural Municipality-2 was injured by lightning on Thursday afternoon.

He is being treated at the local health post, police said. Due to the lightning, the part below Shrestha's waist did not move. Shrestha was sitting at home when lightning struck. 

In the same village, lightning has caused partial damage to a 1-storey house covered with zinc sheets in Kamaljung Rananagar. Gole, a 14-year-old boy from Makwanpur Kailash Rural Municipality-9, was struck by lightning on Wednesday.
