On the occasion of Republic Day 2082, the Bagmati state government has honored Chaniklal Tamang, who saved the lives of two people who were swept away in the flood that occurred in the Nakhkhu river of Lalitpur last October, with an award of 150,000 rupees.
Chaniklal of Temal Rural Municipality-9, Kavre, who rescued 43-year-old Raju Sah and his 6-year-old daughter Meghna, who lived in Lalitpur Metropolitan Municipality-25 Sugam Basti Toll, after their Rautahat house was swept away by the Nakhkhu river on October 12th, has been honored by the state government.
Raju and his daughter Meghna were swept away by the flood of the Nakkhu river on October 12th and took them down about 300 meters. During that time, Chanikala rescued them and took them to the hospital.
On the occasion of the Republic Day, Bagmati State government organized a rally in Hetaunda on Thursday and organized a speech program to Hetaunda's Kantipur worker Pratap Bishta who was honored with a leading journalist award.
