In order to increase the sources of income of farmers, Hetaunda Sub-Metropolitan City has distributed 25 padapadis to 25 farmers.
Mayor Meenakumari Lama and Ward President Sunil Moktan distributed padapadi to the farmers of Hetaunda sub-metropolis-15 on Friday. Hetaunda sub-metropolitan city was provided by the Bagmati state government as a conditional grant of Rs. 10 lakhs.
There is a plan to distribute 33 padapadis in collaboration with Sureshikhar Agricultural Cooperative Society located in Ward No. 15 of Sub-metropolis.
There is a provision that the farmers who get Padapadi should join the cooperative, 50 percent of the price of Padapadi should be borne by the respective farmers and there should also be a shed for keeping Padapadi. In the first phase, Padapadi grown through the cooperative was purchased and provided to the farmers.
