Road repairs have been started on the Krishnabhir section of the Prithvi Highway, which has been washed away due to incessant rains since October 10. A section of road about 100 meters long was submerged up to 50 cm in a two meter wide section.

According to Kedar Prasad Nepal, the head of Nagadhunga-Muglin Road Project West Section, Sharma ZICG JV Company, which is currently working on upgrading, has taken over the maintenance. He informed that the work is going on at a fast pace and the goal is to complete it within the month of May.

After the study of the road department's engineer and expert team, the repair has been started. According to experts, the rainwater entered the road and the ground was flooded. Initially, it was suspected that the road was washed away by the Trishuli river. But experts have concluded that water intrusion is the main cause. Micropiling and horizontal rock anchoring techniques are being used for

repair. After the repair of the upper part of the road, Nepal informed that the lower area washed away by the Trishuli river will be further studied and repaired.

Since 2056, there has been a problem of landslides in that road section every rainy season. As a solution, V. No. Landslides were prevented in 2064 by bio-engineering and retaining wall technology. Since then, there was no landslide or flooding problem in this area.
