The 6-lane expansion of the Sanga-Dhulikhel section under the Arnico highway under construction has reached 47 percent so far. According to the Road Department's Suryavinayak-Dhulikhel, Dhulikhel-Sindhuli-Bardibas road project, only 8 months are left for the construction period. In some places of the first section, the work has been stopped, while in some places, the work is going on in full swing.
Project engineer Vishnu Khanal informed that the locals have not allowed the construction work to be carried out in the Pulbazar area of the first section for 3 months due to the dispute of the center line. According to him, the expansion work has been stopped there for about 3 months after the locals raised obstruction regarding the issue of the center line in Pulbazar area of the road section under construction. He said that although there have been many discussions on this issue in coordination between the Napi Department, local people's representatives and the locals to remove the obstacles, it has not been concluded. According to him, no such obstacle has been seen in other places. In the Dhulikhel area under the first section, road paving is being done.
'Road paving is currently being done on the 1 km road from Dhulikhel Bansghari to Dhulikhel Chowk,' he said, 'We are preparing to complete the construction work in that area by the end of 2081/2082.' "The expansion work from Pulpari to Janagal in Pulbazar is going on fast," he said, "We are also preparing to start the black sheet work there in the next few days". Under the first section, road project engineer Khanal informed that the work of removing the houses and towers on the roadside is underway. According to him, 80 percent of the work of transferring electric poles has been completed.
He said that 600 million rupees have been requested from the government for the road expansion work for the current financial year. "Now we have only 60 million rupees left," he said, "As the amount is insufficient for the road expansion, an additional 600 million rupees have been requested." 4 billion 564 million rupees was allocated for 8 km of Sanga-Dhulikhel road section. Lama Construction Company Pvt Ltd has got the contract for the expansion of the section in 3 years.
