Rohingya refugees from Myanmar, who have been temporarily living in Shankhu located in Dhulikhel Municipality-12 of Kavre for a few days, have been sent back to Kathmandu.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Min Bahadur Ghale informed that 44 refugees belonging to 11 families, who have been living since 22nd of Baisakh, were returned to Kathmandu on Wednesday at the behest of local people's representatives and administration. According to him, information has been received that the refugees have come to Shankhu to live on rent.
One of the refugees is giving birth in Dhulikhel Hospital, so there are 4 people there. He said that 1 person went to Lalitpur for study. Shankhu was brought to them for the purpose of involving them in labor and other work in the local area. But after the district administration and other concerned bodies showed interest in the presence of refugees, it was decided to return them to the capital after discussions between the police, public representatives and locals.
