Traffic on the Kanti Lokpath road section connecting Kathmandu will be closed for 6 hours every day from Thursday.

In the notice issued by the District Administration Office Makwanpur, it is mentioned that the traffic will be closed from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Thursday for widening of the road in Thingan-Baguwa road section of Bakaiya Rural Municipality of Makwanpur.

Under the Thigann-Baguwa road section, traffic will be closed on the Kanti Lokpath road section as rock cutting work will be carried out for the widening of the road at Bharyang Danda near Gangte.

On the 18th of Baisakh, i.e. from Thursday to the 1st of May, 15 days from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, traffic will be closed for 6 hours daily on this section of the road. District Administration Office Makwanpur Assistant Chief District Officer Rajendra Prasad Kandel has requested vehicles traveling between Kathmandu-Hetaunda or Hetaunda-Kathmandu to use an alternative route during the road closure.

According to Kanti Lokpath project chief Ratnalakshmi Bajracharya, the single lane of this road section will be converted into a double lane along with slope construction and tarmac. The construction work is being done by M/5 Sarva Shakti-Panchakanya-Sunstar JV Company while the supervision is being done by Kanti Highway Road Project, Chakupat Lalitpur.

2081 Bajracharya said that the work of installing the belay bridge on the Bagmati bridge, which was damaged due to the heavy rains on 13 October, is also progressing rapidly. Keeping in mind the safety of the passengers, the administration has requested to use an alternative route for the Kathmandu-Hetaunda journey during that period.
