Kanti Lokpath road will be closed for 6 hours daily for 15 days. Traffic will be closed for 6 hours daily for the next 15 days to start rock cutting on the Thingan-Baguwa road section under the Kanti Lokpath from Hetaunda to Thingan and reach Kathmandu.
According to the notification issued by the District Administration Office Makwanpur, under the road width expansion project of 2079-80, work will be done to remove the dangerous rocks in the 'Bhanddanda' area near the Gangte. During this, traffic will be completely stopped from May 18 to June 1 from 10 am to 4 pm every day. According to
project head Ratnalakshmi Bajracharya, the single lane of this road section will be converted into a double lane along with slope construction and tarmac. The construction work is being done by M/5 Sarva Shakti-Panchakanya-Sunstar JV Company while the supervision is being done by Kanti Highway Road Project, Chakupat Lalitpur.
2081 Bajracharya said that the work of installing a bailey bridge on the Bagmati bridge, which was damaged due to heavy rains on October 13, is also progressing rapidly.
The administration has requested to use an alternative route for Kathmandu-Hetauda travel during that period keeping in mind the safety of the passengers.
