Panchpokhari Thangpal Rural Municipality-1 Banskhark of the district, the driver lost contact when a landslide hit the excavator while removing stones. According to the district police office, the excavator driver here, Resham Darai, 25, has not been in contact since Tuesday.

The co-driver, 17-year-old Umesh Giri, resident of Melamchi Municipality-8 Keureni, escaped safely. 

District Police Deputy Superintendent Umashankar Yadav said that due to the falling rocks, there is no chance of a landslide.

 'On the command of police sub-inspector Ganesh Thapa from police station Tipeni on 2 and Wednesday  The team of police inspector Bhagwati Timilsena of the area police office Melamchi has been deployed and further understanding is being done regarding the driver but there is no news, he said. 

He said that they are coordinating with the local bodies to remove the landslides by bringing an excavator where a team of security personnel is currently deployed.
