Surrounded by snow ranges, Chitikka fortress wall surrounded by Lekali hills, old style buildings and warehouses. The Tibetan village is barely visible from the surrounding rocks that have been destroyed by cannons. Those who reach the historic Dugunagadhi site located in Bhotekosi rural municipality-3 feel that they have returned 160 years ago. According to Nimasona Sherpa, the ward president of Bhotekosi-3, Dugunagadhi has become a center of attraction after being restored to its old form.
"Gadim Topa Dhunga (cannon shooting site where footprints are visible), Ghoda Tap Seal, Golghar or godownsthal have been brought back to their ancient state," he said .
Earlier, the 160-year-old big dugunagarhi was reconstructed with 3 million rupees of the state government and the activation of the local government. Now there is a lot of people coming to visit and see here . "Most of them reach Bhairavkund through Dugunagadhi, daily more than 30 internal and external tourists are drawn to Dugunagadhi," said Kumar Raut, a tourism businessman. Gharbas (homestay) has been run in five villages, including the house built in Tyangthali located in Bhotekosi-5, in memory of national artist Araniko.
Gharbas has come into operation in historic Dugunagadi, Bagam, Chagam, Antali. Tourists are attracted to the original culture here due to the original lifestyle, tradition and original organic dishes and food system reflecting the old culture. As before, the old structure is felt as it is made by placing the same stone in the ancient form. Locals are shocked after the beauty of Dugunagadhi has increased because the wall was lifted from the place where the wall collapsed and used there.
vs. There is a history that the fort was built by the then Prime Minister Jung Bahadur Rana for Nepal's war security during the war between Nepal and Tibet in 1912. Locals are working to preserve the originality of Dugunagadhi, which is considered one of the 10 historical forts of Nepal. After crossing the bridge next to the state-of-the-art dry port, you can see the surrounding mountain ranges and rivers from the picturesque Dugunagadi.
There is a history that Jung Bahadur built a fort for security during the war at the time of war in the hole of the huge stone guard in the fort spread over an area of about 4200 square meters. Elders say that cannons were also fired at the Tibetan side during the war from there. As the Archeology Department has given special importance to Dugunagadhi in the data related to the fort, Nepali Army and Armed Police used to visit Dugunagadhi from time to time before the earthquake.
Before the earthquake, more than two thousand tourists from western countries used to visit Dugunagadhi and Bhairavkund annually. More than 50,000 foreign tourists used to use this hot spring road every year. Out of which more than 40 thousand tourists were from China. These tourists used to enjoy homestay . Eight years after the earthquake, after the homestay gradually returned to its old condition, it seems that after the crossing was opened for the general public, there is a return to the homestead.
