"Nagarkot tour year 2082" will start from 1st Baisakh. Banepa Mandandeupur municipality of Kavre, Changunarayan municipality of Bhaktapur district and Shankharapur municipality of Kathmandu district are going to conduct Nagarkot tour year.
Nagarkot Tourism Year is going to be conducted in coordination and cooperation of Nagarkot Naldum Tourism Development Committee and promotion of Bagmati Province Government and Nepal Tourism Board.
It was informed through a press conference on Friday that the preparations for the Nagarkot visit year program have been completed. President Ramchandra Poudel will formally inaugurate the Nagarkot Tour Year which is about to start with the slogan 'Nagarkot is more than Sunrise' on 1st Baisakh 2082. It has been informed in a press conference that the inauguration ceremony at Nagarkot Sunrise View Park on Batase Danda in Nagarkot will last till May 3rd.
Organizers believe that the Nagarkot visit year will contribute significantly to the tourism, agricultural tourism, cultural diversity and economic prosperity of the region. The main objective is to promote the natural beauty, religious monasteries, mythological heritage, cultural and historical places in the Nagarkot area and the four municipalities connected to it.
The target is to bring in at least 1 million domestic and 1 million international tourists this year. There will be more than 50 stalls, local agricultural products, food stalls, tableau exhibition, art painting, art museum establishment and other activities on the opening occasion of the visit year. On the 2nd of Baisakh, the folk group 'Indreni', and on the 3rd of Baisakh, the singer Prakash Saput and local artists will give a musical performance.
In addition, the hoteliers have announced to give 15% discount on 1st, 2nd and 3rd of Baisakh and 10% discount throughout the visiting year on the occasion of New Year. Kathmandu-Nagarkot direct bus service has also been started.
