The Bagmati state government is going to add 4 days of public holidays in the new year 2082. The cabinet meeting of Bagmati Province held on Monday has decided to give 4 more days of holiday except as decided by the government of Nepal.
According to the spokesman of the provincial government and Minister of Internal Affairs and Law, Surajchandra Lamichhane, the provincial government has decided to give holidays on the day of implementation of the Provincial Working Language Act (Baishakh 24th), Gaizatra day on July 25th, Nwagi of Chepang community on August 22nd and Ladi festival of Majhi community on February 19th.
He also said that after the decision made by the Council of Ministers is published in the gazette, it will proceed to the implementation stage. In the past, the public holidays given by the state government have been indicated in the calendar itself, apart from the holidays given by the Nepal government, 4 days of holidays have been added.
With this decision, government spokesperson Lamichhane said that in the past, there will be no need to hold cabinet meetings to give holidays on festivals and special days. He said that the holiday will be applicable in all government offices, educational institutions and public institutions across Bagmati province.
In the past, the state government used to decide to grant 6-day holidays on various festivals and occasions by deciding the cabinet meeting.
