Police have arrested the accused who killed the girl and fled. The arrested person is 27-year-old Bharat Budhathoki of Khandadevi Rural Municipality Ward No. 2 of Ramechhap District, according to the Banepa Area Police Office.

On the basis of secret information, the police arrested him on 14th of Chaitra in Virganj of Parsa district. Deputy Superintendent of Police Gyan Bahadur Khadka informed that he was arrested while coming from Raxaul in India to Virgunj in Nepal in front of the Virganj Customs Office Gate of Metropolitan City Ward No. 16.

According to him, on February 15, Sharmila Shrestha was found dead in room number 115 of Hotel View and Guest House located in Banepa Municipality-8 of Kavre District. Deputy Superintendent of Police Khadka said that after investigating the incident, the police intensified the search for the absconding accused and arrested him.

He was arrested and is being investigated by the Kavrepalanchok District Court with an extension of 5 days for the first time, effective from Chaitra 14th.
