Agricultural materials have been distributed to the farmers of Khanikhola Rural Municipality of Kavre, which is considered as a pocket area for coffee production.
District Agricultural Development Office, Khanikhola rural municipality and community in partnership with the farmers of Falametar located in Khanikhola-2 as a subsidy for agriculture Content has been distributed.
Under 'One Ward, One Coffee Product', 3 coffee machines, 15 mini tellers, 40 spray pumps and other materials have been distributed to the farmers with a subsidy of 60 percent from Kavre District Agricultural Development Office, 20 percent from Khanikhola Rural Municipality and 20 percent from the community.
Village chairman Indra Bahadur Thing said that farmers here have been attracted to coffee farming for a few years. He said that agricultural materials were distributed for coffee promotion.
Kulprasad Dawadi, head of the District Agricultural Development Office Kavre, informed that since coffee is being produced well in the pocket areas, the office has assisted in the distribution of agricultural materials. According to the
office, 59 metric tons of coffee was produced in 277 hectares of area in the financial year 2078/79. In 2079/80, 62 metric tons of coffee was produced in an area of 285 hectares and in 2080/81, 62 metric tons of coffee was produced in an area of 285 hectares.
