4 families have been living in Tripal for 6 months including Prakash Sintangko, a local of Chanaute who has been living on the Bagmati River in the border area of ​​Kavre and Makwanpur for years. He said that a local has been hanging the tripal given by the municipality after giving land for living.

"The land that belonged to him was taken away by the flood," he said, "There is no land left to build a house, there is no position to buy the land and build a house." According to him, 6 months have passed since he lived under Tripal. It has started to rain. He said that it is not safe to live there because there is a risk of landslides in that place during rains. He complained that the government has not shown any interest in the management of the habitat.

While the affected people are saying that they have been living under Tripal for 6 months, the government has just started collecting the details of the damage.

In the meeting of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Executive Committee held at Singhdarbar on Thursday, the issue of assessing the damage caused by the floods that occurred in different parts of the country in the second week of October was discussed, Dijan Kumar Bhattarai, spokesperson of National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Technology, informed. According to him, in the meeting, it was also discussed that the work of collecting the details of the damage caused by the flood and inundation will be started within the next week. He said that there was also a discussion about making private temporary and permanent housing after assessing the damage in detail.

When the rains are about to start, the younger Maya Syangtang is worried about her accommodation. She said that it is not possible to live in Tripal during the rains. "In the rains, this tripal may not even hold water, how can we live under the tripal," she said, "Where can we go, all the land we have has been washed away by floods, we don't have money to buy land and build a house, we have been given to live here for a few days, we can't live on other people's land all the time, there is a risk of landslides here too, we are worried about where and how to live now." She hopes that the government will do something. She hopes that the government will arrange accommodation in another safe place from Tripal.

Chairman of Khanikhola Rural Municipality Indra Bahadur Thing informed that 7 families have been displaced by the flood on the banks of Bagmati River and preparations are being made to relocate them to a safe place. According to him, land search is currently underway to transfer to a safe place. He said that the municipality has prioritized this issue.
