In the meeting of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Executive Committee held at Singhdarbar on Thursday, the issue of assessing the damage caused by the floods that occurred in different parts of the country in the second week of October was discussed, Dijan Kumar Bhattarai, spokesperson of National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Technology, informed. According to him, in the meeting, it was also discussed that the work of collecting the details of the damage caused by the flood and inundation will be started within the next week. He said that there was also a discussion about making private temporary and permanent housing after assessing the damage in detail. Chairman of Khanikhola Rural Municipality Indra Bahadur Thing informed that 7 families have been displaced by the flood on the banks of Bagmati River and preparations are being made to relocate them to a safe place. According to him, land search is currently underway to transfer to a safe place. He said that the municipality has prioritized this issue.

He said that the central government was informed about transferring them to a safe place before the rains started. However, the central government has not shown any interest in this matter so far.
