Out of the 17 affiliated and affiliated campuses of Chitwan under Tribhuvan University, voting for the formation of Independent Student Union (SWAVIU) was supposed to be held on Tuesday, but voting has started in only two. Aneraswaviyu (AKHIL), a student organization close to the UML, has protested against the polling in one campus. A consensus committee of Swaviyu has already been announced in one campus in Chitwan.

According to the work schedule, elections were to be held today in three official and 14 affiliated campuses under TU. But only one official campus, Chitwan Engineering Campus in Rampur and affiliated Shahid Smarak College in Shardanagar, has been voted. The campus committee and the district committee of the UML have issued a statement protesting against the voting process of the college in Sharda Nagar.

'We would like to inform you that we have serious objections to the voting without including our candidates in any pre-voting process,' Rakesh Gurung, President of Akhil College Committee, said in a statement. Hari Acharya, Chitwan district president of Akhil, in a press release issued on Tuesday, has demanded to start the pre-voting process by discussing with the student organizations immediately.

It was announced on February 27 that the unanimous decision to form a self-sponsored university was made at Jan Adarsh Multipurpose Campus in Virendranagar. Nominations were not filed in four of the remaining colleges in Chitwan. Due to the lockout of various student organizations in 11 colleges, even though nominations were made, the voting that was supposed to take place today could not take place. There was no voting in the old and big camps of Narayangadh, Bharatpur and Ratnanagar.
