Sahil Gurung became the winner in 'Chitwan Latte Art'

Barista Sahil Gurung from Bharatpur is the winner of the fifth series of 'Chitwan Latte Art Competition', a competition to create beautiful art in a cup of coffee. He also received a cash prize of Rs 60,000 and a trophy.

On Wednesday and Thursday, 46 baristas gathered in Narayangadh from different parts of the country were awarded in the competition. In the

Sahil Gurung became the winner in 'Chitwan Latte Art' competition, Abhishek Susling from Devchuli-3 Keureni in Nawalpur came second. Tekmaya Gurung of Bharatpur was third, Anis Rai of Kathmandu was fourth, Niranjan Rana Magar of Bharatpur was fifth and Priti Subedi of Kathmandu was sixth. They received cash prizes of 40,000, 30,000, 20,000, 10,000 and 5,000 rupees and trophies respectively. All 6 awardees were also selected for the National Latte Art Competition to be held in Kathmandu. 

Narayangadh's Coffee O Clock Pvt Ltd and Bharatpur's Himalayan Tea jointly organized the competition. Coffee O Club owner Sudish Thapa started the competition seven years ago. For the first two years, he organized a competition among coffee-making trainees at various training centers. After that, they started a national level competition by involving perfect baristas to prepare coffee.
