The windstorm that came in Thaha Municipality of Makwanpur on Thursday evening has blown away the roofs of dozens of houses and plastic tunnels for vegetables.
Suraj Bhujel, Information Officer of Thaha Municipality, said that about 100 houses of Thaha Municipality-3 and 4 Wards had their zinc sheet roofs and about 80 tunnels blown away by the wind.
"This is only preliminary data," he said. The storm that came along with the rain around 6:30 pm on Thursday has blown the roofs of most of the zinc-roofed houses in the area above the Ghartikhola Bhairav temple.
Sudarshan Bisht, a local leader farmer who blew more than 50 plastic tunnels, said, "The wind blew not only the roof of the house, but also the plastic tunnel where vegetables were being cultivated."
The zinc sheet roof of the cold store under construction in Thaha Municipality-3 has also been blown away by the wind.
The wind blew the roofs of more than 100 houses, including Dharapani, Nayagaon and Ghartikhola in Ward No. 3 of Thaha Municipality-4 and damaged more than 80 vegetable plastic tunnels.
On Wednesday, the wind blew away the roofs of houses in Thaha municipality-6 Bajbarahi and damaged vegetable crops. Information officer Bhujel said, "There is no single data about how much damage the storm has done, we are taking the data".
