Orientation to reduce mental problems

On the occasion of the 115th International Women's Day, an orientation program was conducted to reduce mental health problems in Dhulikhel, Kavre on Saturday.

Kavre Women Entrepreneurs Association, Newa: Miss Dabu, Nepalese Young Entrepreneurs Forum Kavre, Rotary Club of Dhulikhel and Rotract Club of Kathmandu University Medical School organized an orientation program to reduce mental health problems.

Jyotsana Sainju, president of Nepalese Young Entrepreneurs Forum Kavre, said that the treatment was practiced by focusing only on physical health problems, but mental health problems were overshadowed. According to him, the human body should be healthy both physically and mentally to be healthy.

"The ability to make decisions increases only if a person is mentally healthy," she said, "Even though the participation of women in decision-making and leadership levels is low, such programs help women to be enthusiastic and fearlessly enter their work fields." 

Orientation to reduce mental problems

If women's day is not limited to a day and can be implemented on a daily basis, she said that discrimination against women will be reduced and such programs will be conducted not only in the districts but also in major cities of Nepal . 

Psychologist Reba Makju Shrestha of Dhulikhel Hospital gave a presentation on the identification, treatment, search strategy, and mitigation measures of mental health problems. 

Dhulikhel Hospital Dr. Shreya Shrestha and Sneha Shrestha shared their experiences about the mental problems they faced.  In the

program, meditation was also conducted in addition to giving information about the ways to reduce mental stress.
