A screening camp has been conducted to identify non-communicable diseases in Panchkhaal Municipality of Kavre. The camp has been conducted from February 19, targeting citizens of the municipality who are above 30 years of age.
In the camp, BMI (Body Mass Index), blood pressure, diabetes and kidney tests were conducted, said Kopila Karki, head of the municipality's health department. According to him, so far 1136 people have been tested in the camps conducted from Ward No. 1 to 9. He said that a large number of problems related to obesity were observed.
"In the test of 1136 people, 155 people have been diagnosed with high blood pressure, 163 people with diabetes, 65 people with kidney disease and 476 people with obesity-related problems," she said, "279 people with diseases identified in the camp have been treated and 67 people have been referred." In addition to giving counseling to those diagnosed with non-communicable diseases, free medicine was also distributed.
Mahesh Kharel, head of Panchkhal Municipality, said that the camp was effective because non-communicable diseases were identified and treated on time.
camps will be conducted in all 13 wards of Panchkhal, according to the Health Branch. The camp, which will last until February 28, has been completed in 9 wards so far.
