According to sustainable forest management program, 40,000 cubic feet of wood will be cut every year in Khorthali Community Forest in Bhimeshwar Municipality-3 and 6.

The Division Forest Office has implemented a sustainable forest management program for the first time in Khorthali. According to the program, two thousand trees will be cut in the dense forest of Khortali. Krishnaraj Neupane, Head of the Division Forest Office, said that the Khoratli Community Forest will earn 60 million rupees this financial year from the wood.

This community forest will be cut down. According to him, 6 cutting areas have been designated in Khorthali spread over 173 hectares. In the first year, about 24 hectares of trees will be cut under forest management, he said. For the first time in Bagmati province, forest management has been started from Khorthali.

According to the program of the Ministry of Forest and Environment of the state government, sustainable forest management program has been started to connect the forest with the economic sector. "We have started forest management by making a sustainable action plan for 60 years," he said, "According to which about 12 hectares of forest will be managed this year, the community forest will earn 60 million rupees."

"We have staked the old and cutable trees of the forest, trees will be cut accordingly," he said, "new varieties of plants will be planted in the cut areas, while the dense forest will be cut by pruning." Narayan Thapa, Chairman of Khoratli Community Forest, said that it is very difficult to manage the forest without the forest itself agreeing to cut down the trees in the forest.

procedure, trees with a girth above 40 inches will be cut . At present, a 10-year procedure has been made . Division Forest has informed that the sustainable forest management program will be implemented in 4 community forests of the district.
