On Wednesday, one person was burnt and injured while extinguishing the fire in Kabuliyati forest of Dhanmale, Jiri municipality-8.
64-year-old Tej Bahadur Khatri of Jiri Municipality-8 Oldanchaur was injured while extinguishing the fire. Police Inspector of District Police Office Dolakha Shatrudhan Mahato said that both hands of Khatri were burnt while extinguishing the fire that broke out in Purani Kabuliyati Forest on Wednesday afternoon. He said that he was treated at a local health institution.
After the fire started moving towards the village of Bulachaur and Bulachaur primary school, the locals along with the team of Garuda Dal Gana Security Base Jiri, along with the area police office Jiri, took control of the fire towards the settlement. The fire in the said forest has not been brought under control. On Wednesday afternoon, an attempt was made to control the fire in the forest by using the fire brigade of Jiri Municipality.
