Hetounda Hospital, which was known as "Refer Hospital" until a few years ago, has now turned into a reliable and trustworthy health institution for the patients of this region. Only 1,300 to 1,500 patients visit the outpatient service every day.

Hetaunda Hospital has prepared to expand services related to heart disease. Madan Bhandari Institute of Health Sciences has prepared to expand services at Hetaunda Hospital from the coming week. After the operation of heart disease related services in Hetaunda Hospital, most of the patients of Hetaunda do not have to go to Bharatpur and Kathmandu anymore.

It was difficult to start heart disease services at Hetaunda Hospital for a long time. In particular, there was a problem in the operation of the service due to the lack of specialist doctors in the hospital. Although the hospital had the necessary equipment for the operation of heart disease services, the service could not be operated due to the lack of manpower. According to Bhimsagar Guragain, registrar of Madan Bhandari Institute of Health Sciences and chairman of Hetaunda Hospital Operation and Management Committee, preparations are being made to operate the service from next Sunday as far as possible. "Even though preparations are being made to increase the service this week and proceed with the treatment, it has been delayed for a few days due to the lack of completion of the management work," he said. As soon as Vikesh Shrestha appears at the hospital, preparations have been made to start the service. "Dr. Shrestha will come to live in Hetaunda next week with his family," said the director of Hetaunda Hospital. Ramchandra Sapkota said, "Hetaunda Hospital will provide services to heart patients soon." There is no equipment problem in the hospital, the only problem was the doctor. Registrar Guragai said that with the addition of this service in the hospital, patients with heart-related health problems will no longer have to go to Bharatpur and Kathmandu.

As soon as the cardiologist comes to the hospital, there is no need to go out for heart echo, ECG, TMT tests. According to the registrar Guragain, Hetaunda Hospital received equipment for heart disease treatment and testing in the last year 2080. Due to the lack of a cardiologist, the device was stuck . Due to the lack of specialist doctors, the equipment brought for examination and treatment of heart patients has been lying in the hospital room for the past one year.

Rotary Club Makwanpur in partnership with Hetaunda Sub-Metropolitan City provided heart testing equipment worth 1 crore rupees to the hospital . After receiving the equipment, the hospital was taking the initiative of appointing a specialist in heart disease . However, due to the lack of a doctor, the service expansion work could not proceed .

In a hospital where there is a high number of patients, the hospital was forced to store equipment instead of doctors. Guragai, the registrar who sent Shrestha said . The institute and the hospital had requested applications for the appointment of specialist doctors last May as well. According to the demand, one doctor was applied but was not appointed because the criteria were not suitable.  The

foundation requested an application for the appointment of a cardiologist on February 13. The hospital has informed that OPD services related to heart disease will be conducted immediately from the hospital. The hospital is planning to expand the services including surgery with more specialist services in the coming year by conducting treatment and examination by two doctors. Registrar Guragain said that with the acquisition of a new building under construction in the hospital, they are preparing to increase the necessary equipment for heart surgery in the next financial year.

Madan Bhandari Institute of Health Sciences has 300 beds in Hetaunda Hospital. 45 specialist doctors and three health workers are employed. A 5-storey building is under construction in the hospital premises to add 200 beds within a short time. "After the capital of the province was made in Hetounda, Hetounda Hospital has changed its shape," said Devprasad Shrestha, an intellectual and social worker.
