There has been winter rain in the lower areas of the district and snowfall in the upper areas. After a long time, there has been winter rain since Friday night.
On Saturday Since early morning, there has been winter rain in lower areas and snowfall in upper areas with windy . With the winter rains, there has been some relief in the wheat crop planted by the farmers. Potato farmers in the upper region are happy. Due to the drought, the wheat planted in the low areas started to rot in the field. The potatoes planted in the upper area did not grow.
Chet Bahadur Shrestha of Baityashwar Rural Municipality-7 Marbu said that he was happy that it rained even though it was late. "The wheat crop was destroyed due to the drought, vermilion disease has been observed in some of them," he said, "I am happy because the rain has saved the wheat crop to some extent." He said that since the field is being dug to sow corn, the winter rains will loosen the soil and break the clod easily.
With the snowfall in the upper region, potato farmers are happy . Jeet Bahadur Shrestha of Bhimeshwar Municipality-9 Kharidhunga said that the winter rains have given some relief as the potatoes did not survive the drought. "Due to the drought, the potatoes could not grow, there was fear that the field would be damaged by the drought, he said, 'After the rain, there is some relief, the irrigation will make the soil easier for the potatoes to grow.'
There has been snowfall in high places including Kalinchok of the district. Along with the snowfall, the hotel businessmen of these areas have also become excited . On the other hand, there has been heavy snowfall in the tourist villages of Na and Beding in Rolwaling region. It has been snowing continuously since the first week of February in that area. Locals have not been able to go out of their houses due to continuous snowfall.
Similarly, the Shailung region, known for its potato pocket region which has received snowfall in the past years, has received normal winter rains . The snowfall did not happen till midday on Sunday . Similarly, there has been normal winter rain in Kharidhunga Mudhe area. Due to the change in the weather, winter rains and snowfall are happening in some areas of the district .
