Local residents have been in trouble for six months due to the breaking of the 'Gravity Ropeway' wire connecting Namtar's Kapcheri and Ghairangdanda located in Kailash rural municipality-9 of Makwanpur. The gravity ropeway, which runs without electricity and fuel, has been closed since August 14.

Thulimaya Rumba of Ghairangdanda said that since the cables of the ropeway could not be repaired, it was a problem to deliver the agricultural products produced by the locals to the market and to take the necessary goods from the market to the village. "It's been 6 months, we have a problem because the repairs have not been done yet," she said.

It is estimated that it will cost around 7 lakh rupees to repair the ropeway wire. But the residents complain that the ward and municipal office have not shown any interest.

After the construction of a 1,214-meter long gravity ropeway, it became easier to bring vegetables and locally produced food to the market and to bring household items from the market in Ghairang, where there is no road network.  About 2  As the goods could be transported within minutes, the locals used to sweep vegetables and grains such as cauliflower, potatoes, radishes, and bananas to Namtar market. Chairman of Kailash rural municipality-9 Bhuwansingh Ghalan said that farmers earn more than 2 crore rupees annually from vegetable production.

In the year 2071, the ropeway was constructed at a cost of 25 lakh 52 thousand rupees with the cost participation of Suspension Bridge Division Office Kathmandu and local consumers.  'Gravity rope-way' closed for 6 months, problem in transportation of agricultural produce A contractor was entrusted with the task of operating the ropeway through the consumer committee. Meanwhile, four or five contractors changed.  However, none of the contractors have shown the accounts to the consumer committee. There was a problem in repairing the ropeway after the contractor was out of contact after collecting the money  Ward President  Ghalan said. "When the ward office tried to operate it, there was a problem with the repair because the consumer committee did not give it," he said. "We have requested the suspension bridge division office Kathmandu to repair the ropeway." He says that there is a problem in the repair because the contractor did not pay the amount to the committee.

80 kg from the top and 30 kg from the bottom were simultaneously transported through two heavy carrying carriers on the ropeway. Goods used to be transported from Ghairangdanda to Namtar Kapcheri station in one minute and 55 seconds. It was convenient for the locals as the two-hour journey would be transported in two minutes through the ropeway. Goods used to be transported by ropeway at 2 rupees per kg.
